Temperature Converter

Convert temperatures between °C, °F and K — for weather, cooking, science and health.

Quick answer

°F = °C × 9/5 + 32, °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9 and K = °C + 273.15. Water freezes at 0 °C (32 °F) and boils at 100 °C (212 °F) at sea level.

About the Temperature converter

Temperature scales do not share a zero point, so conversion needs an offset as well as a scale factor. Celsius and Kelvin have the same step size; Fahrenheit steps are 5/9 the size.

Useful anchors: water freezes at 0 °C (32 °F, 273.15 K) and boils at 100 °C (212 °F) at sea level. −40 is the same in Celsius and Fahrenheit.

How to use it

  1. Enter a temperature.
  2. Choose the scales.
  3. Read the result, or click a table row.
